Drafting Description

We check Tests 3 and 4 for S/V agreement.

You have time for working on the draft, due Monday.

Homework:

1. Finish Draft 1 of your describing paper for class Monday.

2. Complete Tests 5 and 6 Chapter 3 pages 47-48 in Brushup.

Good Description and S/V Agreement

We read "A View from the Bridge" on page 127-129.


We also spend some time on Brushup. Complete Tests 3 and 4 in the S/V Agreement chapter (Ch. 3).

Homework:

1. Tomorrow  I'll collect your daybooks and completed tests.

2. You'll have some time during class to work on Draft 1 of your Describing paper.

Description Paper and Subject-Verb Agreement

I give you the assignment sheet for the first paper.

Then we start Brushup Chapter 3. We see how far you can get...

Homework:

1. Be deciding on a topic for your description paper. Tomorrow we'll look at some more examples. You fill a page in your daybook with brainstorming notes about ideas you could write about. By Friday you should have decided on a topic.

2. On Friday I'll take your daybooks to check them -- including the tests from Brushup.

3. For tomorrow, have Tests 1 and 2 pages 43 and 44 in Brushup done.

Grammar Diagnostic

We correct Ch. 2 Tests 5 and 6 in Brushup, pages 37-38.

Today you take the diagnostic grammar test.

Homework:

1. In Seeing the Patttern, read pages 152-155, and begin thinking about what you might want to write the first paper about.
